Hotstar removed all BCCI Indian cricket matches from their library

This is just sad. Star without cricket highlights is like idli without chole. Cream without ice. Milkshake without eggs.

my understand star has BCCI rights till 30th Sep. Aus tour to India in september 3 T20s live on star.
The new rights will start from 1st Oct 2023

The thing is BCCI had probably excuted various loopholes probably to get this contract ending at the exact time frame as STAR haven't got the exact amount of matches they signed for due to Covid.

Star on the other had did the same to extend the same through 2024,. They even publicly published the same through PRs and all. Thats why they promoted that series back then.

So sad they had highlights and full match replays of India's every Home International + Domestic (Men and Women) matches from 2018 to 2023

highlights and clips are still available on Jio TV and their Jio cricket channels still showing highlights of Domestic matches

What will the future of Jio Cricket channels without BCCI matches? If Viacom grabs the rights these channels would be useless as Viacom would want to stream exclusively on Jio cinema. If Star wins they might look to extend their sub licensing deal
