HMD Global has announced its first phones under Nokia branding. The company has introduced a new feature phone, called the Nokia 150 There’s also a dual-SIM variant of the phone, called the Nokia 150 Dual SIM. The feature phone is priced at $26, approximately Rs 1,750, and will be available globally in select markets, rolling out first in APAC, IMEA and Europe, in the first quarter of 2017. HMD Global assures it will further expand the Nokia -branded feature phone portfolio, which is comprised of breakthrough phones like the Nokia 216, Nokia 230 dual-SIM and Nokia 215 dual-SIM. The Nokia 150 comes with a hard polycarbonate frame at the back and scratch-resistant color, which the company claims will help make the device more durable. The smartphone measures 118.0×50.2×13.5mm in dimensions and weighs 81 grams. The phone comes pre-loaded with classic games like the Snake Xenzia and Nitro Racing by Gameloft.

The Nokia 150 feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) display. It runs on Nokia Series 30+ operating system. The feature phone comes with microSD support for storage up to 32GB. The feature phone is powered by a 1,020mAh replaceable battery, which the company offers talktime up to 22 hours and standby time of up to 31 days for single SIM, and up to 25 days for dual-SIM variant. On the photography front, the phone sports a VGA rear camera with LED flash, which doubles as torchlight. Connectivity options include microUSB, 3.5mm audio port, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM support and FM Radio. As the name suggests, the Nokia 150 dual-SIM comes with dual-SIM support whereas rest of the specifications and features as same as its single-SIM counterpart.

Launch of the first Nokia phones come days after HMD Global confirmed it will be launching a new Nokia-branded smartphone at the MWC 2017, scheduled to take place in February. Earlier this year, HMD Global signed a strategic licensing agreement with Nokia earlier this year, allowing it to use Nokia brand for its smartphones and tablets for the next year. Prior to this $350 million deal, HMD already the rights to use Nokia branding for feature phones. Though the company has confirmed the launch of a new smartphone, there have been plenty of leaks and rumors on what the future Nokia smartphones will bring to the table. If rumors are to be believed, Nokia is working on three new devices. Two of these devices are expected to feature 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch displays with QHD (1440×2560 pixels) resolution respectively. The smartphones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 22.6-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and 4K video recording capabilities, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support.

The third smartphone, which is dubbed as the Nokia D1C, is expected to be the most affordable one of the lot. It will be available in two variants. The first variant will feature a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera, and will be priced at $150, which is approximately Rs 10,000. The second variant will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. This variant will be priced at $200, which is approximately Rs 15,000. The Nokia D1C smartphones are expected to come with 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and run on Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box.
