Dxer bro please do not quote images in post. People tend to like those posts thinking as original poster and it takes more page space too to load on browser.

Good work fdl bro :clap
OK Bro,
I thought images were not showing when quoting.
I am writing from mobile as my laptop hard disk crashed few days back :(

Sad to know that bro. Get a SSD if possible and move out of hard disk, expensive but far better and lasts long with blazing fast speed.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Will SSD fit in my Dell XPS 1530 laptop ?
By the way I bought a new Seagate Hard drive from but it did not work so had to return it.It is only Amazon which accepts returns once the Hard disk packing is open !
The old type Hard disks are no longer in circulation so was thinking of buying a second hand one from eBay.

Yes bro, it should support.

I guess by old model you mean 3.5" HDD slot in your laptop while new HDD & SSD are of 2.5"

You can get a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter which is easily available on amazon itself and fit the SSD.

By the way, few weeks ago i made a thread regarding SSD suggestion for myself. Check that out.

Hi Bro,

Thanks for all the info.

I did not know there is some adapter for fitting new HDDs in old HDD slots.

I am not sure whether my old HDD is 3.5 or 2.5 but yes it is thicker than the new one .

Interestingly today I revived my old HDD but from experience I can say it can crash again any time. The laptop has already shown me "hard disk not found error at least twice".If I restart the laptop in the traditional way it again shows that error but when I shutdown by pressing the button and switch it on by pressing button then everything is fine .

But still please do send me the liink to the 3.5 to 2.5 adapter.

I am able to write in length as I am now writing from laptop with fingers crossed.

By the way I have another problem .

I have an Avermedia tv tuner but when I insert in my laptop it says no device connected although the software is installed.

If some one helps me to run it I can take the laptop to near my dish and see the signal instantly.Otherwise I have to move from the dish in the balcony to my room which is not near the dish to see the signal.

Thanks and Regards

First check whether you have 3.5 inch or 2.5 inch HDD. Then order accordingly. Almost all SSD are 2.5 so if u hv 3.5 HDD then you need adapter.

If old HDD is thick and new ssd is thin then you can put a thin cardboard or a thick piece of paper in the HDD slot of laptop as a bed to adjust the thickness of your new thin SSD but connecter should match :k

Also check whether your HDD connects via IDE or SATA. IDE and SATA are different types of interfaces to connect storage devices (like hard drives) to a computer's system bus.

If IDE then new SSD might require a SATA to IDE mounting kit.
