Hamilton Masakadza has been
appointed as Zimbabwe's captain for
all three formats following the
resignation of Elton Chigumbura.

Masakadza, who made his debut in
2001, has represented Zimbabwe in
238 international matches.
"It is very exciting, because it is a big
honour to lead your country,"
Masakadza told Sunday News on
Sunday (January 31).
"It is an exciting challenge I am looking
forward to. I was not exactly expecting
this. I didn't think I was going to be one
of the front runners. I have been
waiting for my turn for such a long
time, I never thought it was going to
come, I thought it had evaded me."
Masakadza is Zimbabwe's sixth most
capped played and the fourth highest
run-getter, across formats. Among the
current set of players, only
Chigumbura has made more
international appearances than
Masakadza.
"I never for a moment thought my
career was over, I still have a lot in me.
