Google has been hard at work to capitalize on the
popularity of its services and one more step to that
is the upcoming launch of web-based in-app
purchases expected this May. Web-based apps out
there could reach for greater revenue by allowing
you to spend your hard earned cash starting from May 2011 . Good news for developers who would be able to easily accept payments within an
application. And this is not to be confused with Android Market in-app payments , which are expected as soon as this quarter. Currently, it is still
possible to accept a payment via carrier billing, and
many apps use services like PayPal to facilitate
charges. The platform behind the web-based in-app
purchase system was created by Jambool, acquired
by Google last year, and is likely to be revealed to
the masses in May. Some integration with Google
Checkout could also be on the way. So be careful
what you buy in that farm of yours, okay? It might turn out cheaper in real life.
