Google has announced it will be offering amazing freebies and discounts all this week to celebrate Google Play store's first birthday. The company stated on their website, "It was just a year ago today that we launched this amazing shop on the interwebs to offer the best in digital content. Since the best parties are the ones that send you home with a present, today we celebrate our birthday with a festive goodie bag full of gifts."
Google also added on its first birthday, "It's been an incredible first year and we look forward to sharing the gift of digital diversions for many more to come."
Google had rebranded Android Market to Google Play store last March, and had added more apps, music, movies, etc. With its first birthday celebrations, Google is also offering freebies like an additional 10 percent discount on Hotel.com, a $15 gift card from Fancy, free song tracks from The Velvet Underground as well discounts on various apps, games, etc. Google had earlier given freebies in September when the Google Play store hit 25 billion downloads.
