A few days ago, we posted the announcement of the Innos D6000 smartphone which is equipped with two batteries giving a total of 6000 mAH. Now, it seems that the upcoming Gionee M5 smartphone will also have a similar dual-battery setup that will provide users upto 4 days of battery life.

The dual-battery setup will also allow users to use the phone with just one battery while the other one gets charged. We aren’t sure as to what the capacity of the batteries will be exactly but having two batteries should provide good enough power to power a smartphone for quite a while so the 4 day battery life claim might not be too hard to achieve. Perhaps power users might not make it through 4 full days but should hold good for 2 days of use without having to charge.

It is good to see that manufacturers are slowly trying to improve their battery technology as most phones these days take up too much of power but have limited capacity batteries to drive them. Hope that the phone is well optimised for use with dual-batteries and that we get a usage time just as good as the company claims the handset can offer.

Not much else is known about the M5 yet but we will be sure to keep you updated on any new information that arises regarding the handset.
