Chetan Desai, president of Goa Cricket Association (GCA), secretary Vinod Phadke and treasurer Akbar Mulla have been arrested by the Goa Police on Wednesday (June 15) for alleged fraud.
Vilas Desai, a life member of GCA, had reportedly filed a complaint against the three officials, accusing them of forging signatures and opening bank accounts to siphon money. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Goa Police had filed a First Information Report (FIR) on June 4 and reports claimed that alleged fraud was to the tune of INR 3.13 crore.
A police spokesperson said the accused have been sent for medical examination and added, "The trio has been arrested on charges of cheating, impersonation, forging documents and criminal conspiracy."
