Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), organisers of the Indian Super League - a city based football league established in India in 2014 under the sanction of the All India Football Federation, plans to invite bids from interested parties to enrol and participate in the Indian Super League from its fourth edition to be staged in year 2017-2018.
FSDL will be floating the tender through ‘Invitation To Bid’ (ITB) to be available on working days starting 12th May 2017 to 24th May 2017.

Bids invited for new Indian Super League teams

The Football Sports Development Ltd (FSDL), organisers of the Indian Super League (ISL), has invited bids from interested parties for acquiring franchises from a pool of 10 cities.
The organisers will award one to three new franchises the right to participate in the ISL. Winning franchises will participate in the ISL from its fourth edition to be staged in year 2017–18.

The cities on offer are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cuttack, Durgapur, Hyderabad, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Ranchi, Siliguri and Thiruvananthapuram.

The organisers clarified that in case of Kolkata the winning bidder will have to hold its home games outside Kolkata for the next two consecutive ISL 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons.

Bengaluru FC picks up ISL bid documents


Bengaluru FC today picked up the ’Invitation to Bid’ documents of the Indian Super League, expressing interest to own a franchise in the tournament which is set to be expanded with the addition of a maximum of three teams this season.

The two time I-League champion picked up the bid documents on the first day of the opening of the tender today.

East Bengal to pick up ISL ‘Invitation to Bid’ documents

Kolkata: Kingfisher East Bengal, after a series of drama and discussions, is all set to pick up the “Invitation to Bid” documents from the IMG-R. Though, the chance of playing in the ISL is yet to be decided. But it is learnt that the present sponsors of East Bengal insisted the Red & Gold club officials to at least pick up the form of “invitation to bid”. LIKE A HOUSE OF CARDS, the last bit of resistance to ISL's takeover of the Indian football league system seems to have fallen apart.

The Invitation to Bid issued by FSDL was carefully worded to signal to the I-League's big three clubs Bengaluru FC, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal that the door was open for them. And immediately the first step was taken by Bengaluru FC, who made it clear that they were interested in bidding for a place in ISL.

Hyderabad all set to have a team in ISL

Internet Desk: The city of Hyderabad is all set to get a team in the Indian Super League (ISL) from next season. Fateh Hyderabad AFC is likely to represent the city of Nizam in the ISL. The club was founded in 2015 and is owned by city based businessmen Yogesh Mourya and Aditya Narayanan.

Apart from Fateh Hyderabad there will be a team from Ranchi as well which will be owned by the Tata group. In another development, Mumbai and Pune will jointly have a team from the forthcoming season which means there will be no separate teams from Mumbai and Pune. Mumbai City FC and FC Pune City have been taking part in the ISL for the last three seasons. I League club Bengaluru FC will be the tenth team in the league.
