IPL has 10 teams but is watched by crores of Indians. 99% of the regions of this viewers are not represented. When tournament started it was bollywood and glamour that attracted more viewers than cricket itself. I go back and see highlights. Some of the first few matches were terrible to watch. Yet, it was a treat to watch an all stars format of cricket. Coming to the question how did you decided for which team to root for. For Sachin and Dhoni fans it was easy. It was Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. I am curious to know how did you chose your favourite franchise.
For me it was very easy Kolkata was close to my home. My brother even gifted me a Nokia handkerchief of KKR. I still have it. Very first merch of any team I ever had. I had relatives living at Rajasthan who couldn't stopped yapping about cricket and how an underdog was undefeated. That's when I chose my favorite team Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Although I switched to Deccan Chargers next year. What a team that was. Next season I switched sides to CSK. They won. I stopped watching from next season onwards until 2018 when I started becoming fans of Rajasthan Royals and RCB. Than GT happened. I never looked back at RCB ever again. Rajasthan Royals lost me as a fan when they released performers like Butler, Boult and Chahal. This is the fun part of being part of smaller cities. You can choose and be part of any fandom.

3. Out of all the teams Deccan Chargers, Kochi Tuskers, Gujarat Lions, Pune Warriors and Rising Pune that are gone from the tournament. Which team would be the most successful want?
4. Do you want your city or state to have any IPL team in the future?
