Karachi, May 17 : Former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas has criticized the Pakistan cricket team for losing the opening test match against the West Indies.
Abbas said Pakistan''s 40-run defeat against a second string West Indies team had exposed its weaknesses.
"Pakistan''s performance was highly disappointing in the first Test. They should have defeated West Indies in all matches. But West Indies now have four wins as compared to Pakistan''s three in the ongoing tour which should be a major cause for concern," The News quoted Abbas, as saying.
The Pakistan side needed 218 runs to defeat the West Indies, but crumbled for 178 runs.
Abbas blamed poor batting for Pakistan''s defeat and said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) needs to address this weakness urgently.
Another former cricketer Iqbal Qasim said Pakistan should have performed well against a low- ranked West Indies team.
