BlackBerry’s phones were a cult smash among business people – and BBM-addicted teens – but the iconic handsets have finally bitten the dust.

After another quarterly loss, BlackBerry Ltd has announced it will no longer design its own phones – and will outsource manufacturing of its once-core hardware, including its flagship smartphone.

BlackBerry reported another loss and sharp drop in revenue – and said Chief Financial Officer James Yersh would leave effective Oct. 1 for personal reasons.

The company has shifted its focus to software that companies and governments use to manage their mobile devices.

CEO John Chen said, ‘We have made investment over a billion-plus, all in software, all in security, and now we need to execute it.’

Analyst Ben Wood of the CSS Insight consultancy said, ‘BlackBerry can’t keep producing its own phones indefinitely just to serve a small subset of its clients addicted to its home-grown devices.

‘BlackBerry had made no secret of the fact that it might shut down its own phone-making business. Pushing it out to a third party is a sensible solution – but any manufacturer making BlackBerry branded devices will ultimately face the same challenges.’

Motorola is good to die a again in the hands of Lenovo

Moto should thank Google for their come back! They took classes to Moto engineers on how to make a smartphone. Result was Moto g and Moto x.

Even Google fired lot of Moto employees when they took over, and Lenovo is doing the same. However, what Lenovo is doing differently is it's killing the Moto line up slowly by releasing several phones in the same price range, not providing updates as promised, selling heaters instead of phones etc etc....Great going Lenoto!!

People wants their phone to look and feel different than other. So we can't blame them. That's why lenovo and almost all others are flooding market with different handset. You can't stick to a model for business.

But the downside is that it's impossible to update all phones [emoji19]

But the problem with Lenoto is, they all look same!! Take a look at Moto g4 play, Moto e3 power and Moto g4 plus. Especially the first two are carbon copies.
