Ranchi:It is a callous joke by electricity department. A house that doesn’t even have a cooler and AC has been asked to foot electricity bill of Rs 55 crore and 55 lakh, throwing the entire family in a state of shock.
Krishna Prasad is a member of a middle-class family in Jharkhand. Some of the family members are unwell after receiving the bill.
Few officers of the electricity department reached their houses. They were also shocked with the mistake. After investigation, the bill was computed again, which came to be Rs 10,000.
The officers passed the buck on private company entrusted with computing the electricity bill.
