Does refurbished phones comes with new battery?

Ecommerce platforms are selling refurbished phones stating these being in "good condition". I am curious to know how are these considered good considering these phones had already been used for years and by the time it's selling battery cycle must be exhausted. Are these sites selling phones with fresh battery? Have you bought any refurbished phone. Share your experiences here.
