The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday (March 21) announced the squads for India 'Red' and India 'Blue' for Prof D B Deodhar Trophy 2017.

The two sides will contest against Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017 winners, Tamil Nadu, in the tournament that will be played in Vizag between March 25 and 29.

Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel have been named to lead the Blue and Red side respectively.

Vijay Shankar to captain Tamil Nadu in Deodhar Trophy

All-rounder Vijay Shankar will lead a 15-member Tamil Nadu team for the Deodhar Trophy cricket tournament to be held at Visakhapatnam from March 25.

The squad, announced, will be without batsman Baba Aparajith and paceman Aswin Crist, who will be representing India in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav ruled out of Deodhar Trophy

Rohit Sharma, who was set to lead the India Blue side in the Deodhar Trophy, has been ruled out due to a minor knee injury. The All India Selection committee on Thursday (March 23) has named Ruturaj Gaikwad of Maharashtra as replacement for Rohit who has been advised rest by the BCCI. India Red batsman Kedar Jadhav will also miss out due to a stomach related ailment and he will be replaced by Hyderabad's CV Milind.

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will now lead the team in his absence.

Dhawan ton sets up tight win for India B

Shikhar Dhawan roared back to form with a delightful century to help India B start off with a 23-run win against India A in the 2017 Deodhar Trophy. Deepak Hooda's cameo right in the end gave India B a scare, but Dhawal Kulkarni's hat-trick ensured that they came out on top in 50-over game in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (March 25).

India B 327/8 in 50 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 128, Ishank Jaggi 53; Siddharth Kaul 5-59, Krunal Pandya 2-41) beat India A 304 in 48.2 overs (Ambati Rayudu 92, Deepak Hooda 46; Akshay Karnewar 3-60, Dhawal Kulkarni 3-64) by 23 runs.

Pandey, Axar put India B in Deodhar Trophy final

India B reached the 2017 Deodhar Trophy final with yet another solid display on Sunday (March 26) as they beat Vijay Hazare Trophy winners Tamil Nadu by 32 runs in Visakhapatnam. After defeating India A on Saturday in a tight contest.

Brief scores: India B 316/8 in 50 overs (Manish Pandey 104, Axar Patel 51, Shikhar Dhawan 50; Sai Kishore 4-60) beat Tamil Nadu 284 in 48.4 overs (Kaushik Gandhi 124, N Jagadeesan 64; Dhawal Kulkarni 3-45, Axar Patel 3-53) by 32 runs.
