LG Electronics launched its "No cash, No worry" campaign Thursday, enabling customers to buy goods with a 60 days EMI holiday offer, just a day after Samsung announced a similar EMI waiver, in a bid to spur consumption amidst an ongoing cash crunch due to Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes being demonetized.
The scheme that sets the first EMI to start post 60 days of purchase date is applicable across televisions, refrigerators and microwave ovens with zero down payment and zero interest at select retail outlets.
"We have designed this campaign to help customers purchase consumer durables without paying cash. We have tied up with Bajaj Finance for this," Niladri Datta, corporate marketing head, LG Electronics India said.
LG is also offering customers the option of cashless payment using their credit/ debit cards and a 7.5% cash back on HDFC card purchase is applicable on all consumer durables including phones. Other offers including same day installation, exchange offers, 2-year extended warranty on flat panels and unlimited data on 4G VoLTE smart phones, are also available.
Samsung on Wednesday launched offer for consumers purchasing Samsung televisions, air-conditioners, refrigerator, washing machine, and micro-wave oven.
One, under buying cash free scheme, consumers do not have to pay anything at the time of purchase and can pay in 10-12 monthly installments. In the second scheme - buy now, pay after 60 days - consumers can enjoy a 60 day payment holiday with payment later in eight EMIs. Samsung is also offering Credit Card based EMIs ranging from 3 to 12 months with no payment to be made at the time of purchase, as a third option.
