Dell has officially launched the 2016 range of Inspiron 2-in-1 notebooks in India. The devices were first showcased at Computex in May.
Dell is only bringing the Inspiron 3000 and 5000 series to India and company has no plans to launch the 7000 series anytime soon. Dell Inspiron 3000 series includes a 11-inch notebook while Inspiron 5000 series has a 13-inch and 15-inch offering.
Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is the smallest of all the laptops announced on Tuesday. The laptop can be configured with quad core Intel Pentium or latest sixth generation Intel Core m3 processor. The laptop features an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. In spite of its small form factor, Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series notebooks come with 4GB RAM and 500GB as standard storage options.
Dell’s pitch here is to offer colourful and compact notebooks that can also be flipped 360 degrees. The 11-inch notebook comes with a 360 degree hinge, so the notebook can be flipped into a tablet or tent mode. The Inspiron 11 3000 starts at Rs 32,690.
For those looking for a more serious and productive machine, Dell has the Inspiron 5000 series. Again the 13-inch and 15-inch laptops can be flipped 360 degrees and used in a wide variety of angles.
“The convertibles are catching up in the PC market and we now have complete portfolio of Inspiron range with 360 degree hinge,” Allen Jose told IndianExpress.com. He added, “There is not much demand for 17-inch screen size and hence we are not bringing the Inspiron 7000 series to India.”
Dell Inspiron 13 and 15-inch notebooks can be configured with up to sixth-gen Intel Core i7 processor and they feature wide-angle Full HD displays. Dell has also added Windows Hello facial recognition feature.
Dell Inspiron 13 and 15-inch range come standard with 8GB DDR4 RAM and offer up to 9+ hours of battery life. The new Dell Inspiron 13 weighs 1.62kg while the 15-inch hits the weighing scale at 2.08kg. The new Dell Inspiron 13 5000 series starts at Rs 49,490.
The Dell’s latest Inspiron range comes with
Windows 10 operating system and will be ready for Anniversary Update when it becomes available On August 2. The laptops will be available from both online as well as offline retail channels.
