Delhi’s Khan Market now a free Wi-Fi zone, Connaught Place to follow soon
Khan Market in Delhi is officially a free Wi-Fi zone right now and it looks like plans for similar services in Connaught Place will come into fruition in the near future. The project has been undertaken by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with carriers Vodafone India and Tata Docomo.
The Wi-Fi hotspot area set up in Khan Market does not offer free unlimited access to users. They can only avail of it at no cost for the first 20 minutes after which customers can purchase additional data online or through a retail store offering top-ups. Tata Docomo has revealed the price to be Rs 20 for 40 minutes of usage.
If you need more than that, then it’ll cost you Rs 30 and Rs 90 for 60 minutes and 100 minutes, in that order. Those who wish to take advantage of the Wi-Fi zone will be required to submit their mobile number and email ID. They will then get a one-time password which will permit them to connect to the web.
