New Delhi: Delhi University's fifth and the last cutoff list for undergraduate admissions were declared on Thursday. The race for seats is more or less over for other candidates seeking admission in the general category. However, it brought hope and opportunities to OBC candidates.
Political Science, History, Economics, English, Physics and Chemistry are full at most of the colleges. BCom (honours) has reopened at Acharya Narendra Dev College and College of Vocational Studies (with a dip of 0.25%). PGDAV is also offering the course at 87.75% to commerce students.
For courses like BA Programme, BCom, BA (honours) economics and geography, BSc life sciences and BA (honours) in Hindi and Sanskrit, there is still a slight chance to make it to north campus. While Kirori Mal has some seats vacant in BCom and BA (honours) in geography and Hindi, BA Programme with Sanskrit is available at Hans Raj at 77%. Ramjas College will continue with its admission for BA (honours) economics after lowering the cutoff by 0.25%. And Life science is the only science course available in Daulat Ram College at 68% for the general category.
Sri Venkateswara College, of South Campus has kept its admissions open in life sciences too at 69%, while another south campus college, Ram Lal Anand will still admit students in BSc (honours) geology at 71%. BSc physical science is also available at only one college - Moti Lal Nehru - at 72% which hasn't changed from the previous list. Though there is no chance left for admission in pure sciences, one can opt for biochemistry at Deshbandhu College and electronics at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College near Moti Nagar.
