In a massive boost ahead of the Test
series against England, Dale Steyn,
South Africa's fast-bowling spearhead,
passed a rigorous fitness test on
Thursday (December 18) and is likely
to come back from a groin injury ahead
of the Boxing Day Test in Durban.
On his road to recovery, Steyn was
made to do some high-intensity
fielding drills and asked to bowl at full
tilt in Cape Town. Dr. Mohammed
Moosajee, South Africa's team
manager welcomed Steyn's return
from injury and revealed that the
pacer has put in a lot of work in his
training and rehab and expects him to
be available for selection for the first
Test.
"Dale has put a lot of work into his
training and rehab since his return
from India so we are very happy to
have him back from injury," Dr.
Mohammed Moosajee, South Africa's
team manager, was quoted as saying
by Cricket South Africa. Read more: Dale Steyn passes fitness test ahead of England series - Cricbuzz
