Chennai, May 4: It seems the Chennai Super Kings were holding all the cards today as they romped home by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare in their IPL4 home game against the Rajasthan Royals. An unbeaten Michael Hussey (79 off 55 balls) and Suresh Raina (61 off 51 balls) put on a match-winning stand of 137 while the beleaguered Royals' bowlers were left clueless. As a result of this win, Chennai move to No. 3 in the points table pushing Rajsthan to No. 4 (scorecard).

Chennai Super Kings innings didn't get off to a good start with Murali Vijay trapped in front by Johan Botha for 5 off 6 balls as the score read 8/1 after 2 overs. Michael Hussey struck a four courtesy a misfield from Nayan Doshi at the end of the third over, before the Royals conceded 4 overthrows in the 4th over. Then in the 5th, Suresh Raina got Siddharth Trivedi away for a boundary as the score moved onto 39/1 in 5 overs. In the 7th over, Hussey struck Trivedi for a four to bring up Chennai's 50. Then after a quiet 8th over, 10 runs came off the 9th over, including a four from Raina off Watson. Hussey knocked a four off Shane Warne in the 10th over before smashing Doshi for a four and two sixes in the 11th as CSK moved onto 92/1.

Then Hussey punched one backward of point for four off Stuart Binny as the Super Kings moved past 100 in the 13th over. The batsman celebrated with another boundary off the same bowler. Chennai required just another 39 off 42 balls at that juncture witrh both Hussey and Raina having notched up their fifties.

7 runs came off the 16th over in singles and twos, before Hussey carted Ashok Menaria away for two back-to-back fours in the 17th, reducing the equation for victory to 13 required off 21 balls. In the 19th over, with just 3 runs to win, Raina top-edged Trivedi into the hands of Botha, before Hussey finished off the match with a four. Chennai had won by 8 wickets.
