Cricket Ireland today confirmed that a Limavady player has been found liable for a series of breaches of the Cricket Ireland Code of Conduct, arising out of allegations following the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup tie between Limavady and Instonians at Limavady on 11 June 2011.

The Sub-Committee (Discipline) of Cricket Ireland imposed penalties ranging from a two match suspension to a twelve month suspension from all cricket for a series of counts of misconduct. All penalties come into effect immediately and are to be discharged concurrently. The player has been advised of his right of appeal.

In a separate ruling by Cricket Ireland, it was confirmed that the abandonment of play by the umpires on 11 June, when Limavady declined to complete the fixture and walked off the field of play, constituted the award of the match to the other team (Instonians) and the Cricket Committee ratified the action of the umpires in their correct application of the Laws of Cricket on the day.

The Tournament Director has therefore communicated to the clubs that Instonians will progress to the next round of the competition, where they will meet Railway Union, and that Limavady have been eliminated from this year's competition.

Written confirmation of the above decisions has been issued to the parties concerned.
