Coolpad, a Chinese smartphone maker, has launched a new smartphone – Ivvi K1 Mini. . Dubbed as the thinnest smartphone in the world, the Ivvi K1 Mini measures only 4.7mm at the edges, making it 0.05mm thinner than the previous thinnest title-holder Vivo X5 Max.
Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini comes with a 4.7-inch display and is powered by quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor . It also features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by using SD cards of up to 32GB. In addition, the phone has an 8MP shooter at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. According to Coolpad, the primary camera on the phone supports a super-pixel mode, which allows the users to take 32MP photos. The specifics of this super-pixel mode are unclear at this point.
Among other specifications, the Coolpad Ivvi K1 mini possesses a small 1800mAh battery, which could be sufficient for a day of moderate use, however don’t expect much screen-on time on heavy usage. Coolpad has termed the texture of the back cover of the phone as ‘Baby Skin’ and it has the ability to avoid fingerprints and sweat stains, much like the Baby Skin White back cover on the OnePlus One smartphone.
The Ivvi K1 Mini will go on sale in three colour options and carries a price-tag of 1,299 yuan ($200). Although the phone has been priced slightly high for a smartphone with given specifications, it is still likely to find some takers because of the title of the thinnest smartphone.
