The price point of Rs 6,999 has become a crucial test for most smartphone brands, especially Chinese. Going by consumer trends, the more hardware a brand can offer at this price, the quicker it will sell. After Xiaomi and Yu, it is now Coolpad’s turn to have its share of attention from consumers looking to buy a decent smartphone at Rs 6,999. After using the Coolpad Dazen 1 smartphone for almost a week, here is my take.

Design: The Dazen 1 looks like any other budget 5-inch smartphone. The front is all glass while the back is made of plastic with matte finish. The back cover can be removed to access the SIM card and microSD card slots and the battery is also replaceable. The Dazen 1 is a well built device. It feels solid in the hand.

Display: The smartphone features a 5-inch 720p HD display at 320 ppi pixel density. The display is clear and crisp. Outdoor visibility is manageable, however, the glossy display does affects a bit as expected. The veiewing angles are decent as well. Overall, buyers shouldn’t have any complains with the display quality.
