I think you can't as the IDU is like a phone with simcard and wifi hotspot.

I have not come across anyone achieving this yet. So I doubt whether you can replace the IDU with another router of your own that simply.

You can do it with ACT and other local ISPs, can't succeed in Airtel & Jio.

It can be done in Airtel & Jio also but only in optical fiber (OFC) connections.
