BSNL announces launch of value added services under fixed telephony

Government telecom operator BSNL has announced the commercial launch of various value added services (VAS) on telephones using NGN technology with effect from April 2, 2016.

Under All India IP Centrex, a person can build up a close user group between his friends and family and the members of this group may have BSNL landline and/or BSNL mobile. By paying a nominal monthly charge, all members of the group can enjoy unlimited talktime without paying any call charges, said the company.

Similarly through multimedia video conferencing, an NGN fixed line user can set up an audio conferencing or video conferencing between himself and up to 29 more users , which could be BSNL customers or from an any other telecom operator. BSNL has introduced a prepaid fixed telephony as is available on mobile telephony. Users of prepaid fixed telephony do not have to pay any rental. He will have to pay only for outgoing calls.

Under another service called, fixed mobile telephony ( FMT), telephone connections can be installed on a mobile device ( mobile telephone, notebook etc), using an app. Using this service, customer can move anywhere in the world receive/make calls from his fixed telephone. The calls can be made/received under Wi- Fi environment only.

BSNL said that the tariff and details of these value added services are available on BSNL website namely bsnl.co.in.

First improve your broadband speeds throughout the country,then think about VAS
Still they are providing a speed of 512kbps when even 2Mbps feels less :s
