NEW DELHI: German luxury carmaker BMW has launched an all-new hybrid version of its top-end 7 Series sedan, at a showroom price of Rs 1.35 crore.
The ActiveHybrid 7Series integrates a petrol engine with an electric motor to increase fuel efficiency. The vehicle, which is imported as a completely built unit, is available for sale across the country, the company said on Wednesday.
The electric motor and petrol engine of the vehicle work in unison, supported by a lithium-ion battery and coordinated hybrid system, the company said.
BMW plans to bring its sporty M3 sedan, M4 Coupe and M5 sedan in 2014 to the Indian market.
It also has plans to expand its dealer network to 50 across major metros and emerging marketsby 2015, BMW Group IndiaPresident Philipp von Sahrtold reporters at the launch event in Gurgaon.
