NEW DELHI: The Canadian smartphone maker Blackberry has finally launched its much awaited Android smartphone BlackBerry Priv in India. The company has priced the device at Rs 62,990 and it will be available from 30th January.
On the specifications front, the BlackBerry Priv has a 5.4-inch QHD display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution protected with a coating of Corning Gorillas Glass 4 on top. Powering the handset is a 1.8GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It's on board storage stands at 32GB which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.
BlackBerry Priv runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and features an 18MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front camera for selfies. The connectivity attributes of the smartphone include 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and houses a 3,410 mAh battery.
BlackBerry Priv was launched last year in November in US. The company is betting the Priv's large curved screen, full array of Android apps from the Google Play store and blend of productivity and security features will help it rebuild its share of the smartphone market, which has slid to under one percent.
