Bharti Airtel launched its 4G services in Bihar starting with the cities of Patna, Gaya, Siwan, Motihari and Bhagalpur.

It also started 4G services in Chhattisgarh with services going live in Raipur and Bilaspur.

With this, its LTE services are now available in 18 out of the 22 circles in India.

Customers in any city in Bihar can switch their existing 2G/3G SIMs with 4G ready USIMs completely free of cost at any Airtel store or retailer in the city.

The service has been rolled out using dual spectrum bands of 1800 MHz (band 3) and 2300 MHz (band 40).

“This also makes Bihar amongst the few states in India to have an integrated dual band Airtel 4G network,” the operator said.

Airtel will extend its 4G footprint to other towns across Bihar in the coming months.

Airtel also announced a new 4G offer for prepaid customers who can now enjoy 10 GB 4G data for just Rs 247 with any new 4G handset.

With Rs 247 recharge, 1 GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed by the customer through My Airtel app. Users can avail a maximum of 3 recharges within 90 days on the offer.

Airtel recently launched a new version of its MyAirtel App.

The refreshed MyAirtel App will offer music, movies games, LIVE TV, e-books and chats.

Users can also enjoy free 2GB cloud backup with the new Airtel Cloud app. It also includes a customized dialer developed by the company.

For prepaid users, the company offers a recharge option of Rs 1,495 which gives 30 GB of 4G data for 90 days.

Another pack, priced at Rs.1499, offers 6GB 4G data upfront and 1GB 4G at Rs 51 for the next 12 months. In Chhattisgarh, it will be Rs 1498, followed by 1GB at Rs 54.

Airtel will also give free 4G devices if users are willing to give plan charges in advance.

The company was the first to launch 4G in India in Kolkata in April 2012.
