Hong Kong: Relenting on its stand not to use the Decision Review System (DRS) in Test cricket, the BCCI on Monday scaled down to accept a modified version of the technology, at the annual conference of the International Cricket Council in progress here.
The much-debated system will be in place during India's tour of England, but with certain modifications. The BCCI said they are agreeable to the use of technology in decision-making, which will include infra-red cameras and audio-tracking devices.
But the 'Hawk Eye', which tracks the trajectory of the delivery, will not be part of the DRS to be used in the Test series that starts with the first Test at Lord's from July 22.
In addition, the LBW decisions will continue to be governed by the on-field umpires and thus won't come under the purview of DRS during the series.
