Here is yet another twist in the ongoing Apple-Samsung patents war in Australia. The highest court in the country has temporarily extended the ban on the Korean company’s flagship Android Honeycomb (3.0) tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Samsung was intending to sell the tablet in the country for the pre-holiday season. But it is definitely going to lose a week. "Samsung believes Apple has no basis for its application for leave to appeal and will vigorously oppose this to the High Court," Samsung said in a statement.
Apple has launched similar court action against Samsung in several other countries. In Germany, Samsung has tendered a redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1 to the local court in a bid to overcome a permanent ban on the device.
Samsung isn’t taking it from Apple lying down, launching its own countersuit in Australia in an attempt to ban the sale of the Apple iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
