Pakistani police said gunmen stormed a police training centre in the country’s restive southwest on Monday, killing over 30 people.
Balochistan police chief Ahsan Mahboob told reporters late on Monday that four gunmen attacked the training centre in a suburban area of the provincial capital Quetta.
He said the attackers attempted to enter a hostel housing the trainees, and a gun battle erupted when the hostel guards resisted. Six trainees were wounded.
Mahboob said quick police and paramilitary forces surrounded the venue to eliminate attackers and rescue the under trainees. LIVE: At least 33 killed in attack on police academy in Pak’s Quetta | world-news | Hindustan Times
