New Delhi: Asus has announced the release date of the ZenFone Max smartphone for the Indian market. The phone, which was unveiled last year in August, will be launched in India on January 4.

The phone will be available on Flipkart. Asus has a teaser page running on the e-commerce site which says, "Launching at 12PM on 4th Jan 2016."

The highlight of the phone is its 5000 mAh battery that also doubles as a power bank, meaning you can use the phone to charge other devices.

The Asus ZenFone Max has a 5.5-inch IPS display with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 atop for scratch-resistance, strength and everyday durability. At the heart of ZenFone Max is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with up to 2 GB of RAM.

Nice share @Sarfraz Bro.If it's priced for about (10-12k),it's gonna be a killer device at that price,in today's time the biggest problem is battery and Zenfone's and Battery has never been a good combination,I own a ZE551ML and disappointed with it's battery backup but it will the best mid range device :) ;)

No chance bro,max it would extend to 14k not more than that, they are providing the lowest snapdragon processor 410 along with low RAM,if they go for 18k no one will buy it,people will prefer to go for Zenfone 2(4gb Ram),moto x play, one plus x,zenfone laser, zenfone selfie as they have almost double the configs, and further they can buy 1-2k powerbank for battery purposes,so it would be around (10-14)k

Gionee just few days back launched marathon m4 with 8mp front camera nd 5mp rear , with just 8gb internal , 2gb ram storage and 5 inch display . with this much less features it costs 15499 . Then how you are supposed to give asus more feature than marathon m4 within 10 - 12k ??

Don't bring Gionee,Gionee isn't a popular brand in India nd don't know how they price their phones, compare this phone with previous Asus Phones,Zenfone 2 laser gives 2gb Ram,same Snapdragon 410 processor,13 mp rear cam 5mp front cam,and it's priced at 10k,only difference between zenfone 2 laser and zenfone 2 max is the battery and that is also only 2000mah more,no more differences,so how can u expect from them that they price the phone at difference of 8k just due to 2000 mah more battery,it would be launching tomorrow, let's see for how much they price it,my guess is not more than 14k
