Adding to their confusing lineup is yet another smartphone which goes by the name Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL). This would be the seventh smartphone in the ZenFone Go series by Asus, and it has been spotted by Mumbai-based mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom . The Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL) is also listed on the company’s official website and it is priced at Rs 8,999. According to the retailer’s information and the website listing, a launch can be expected soon.
The smartphone will be available in four different colors of Sheer Gold, Silver Blue, Glamour Red and Charcoal Black. The Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL) follows the ZenFone Go (ZB450KL) smartphone which was launched last year in August and is priced at Rs 6,999. Speaking about other ZenFone Go series smartphones, the most recently launched was the Zenfone GO 4.5 LTE which is priced at Rs 6,999. It is notable how the Asus ZenFone Go series is aimed at the affordable smartphone category with all the devices being priced below Rs 10,000.
Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL) specifications
The Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL) features a 5-inch HD IPS display with pixel density of 294ppi. The display is accompanied by Asus’ TruVivid technology which offers improved clarity, lighter and vivid color. At the heart of the smartphone, it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. In terms of memory, the smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The smartphone also comes with Asus WebStorage of 5GB and Google Drive storage of 100GB.
In the photography department, the Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL) sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, auto focus and LED flash. Up front, the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone’s camera comes with a bucket load of PixelMaster Camera Modes including HDR, Low Light, Depth of Field Mode to name a few. The connectivity options offered by the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi Direct.
For power, the smartphone uses a 2,600mAh removable battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based ZenUI. Asus ZenUI features ZenMotion which allows the functionality of double tapping the screen to instantly wake up.
Considering the price tag and specifications of the Asus ZenFone Go (ZB500KL), the smartphone will face tough competition when officially launched. Two smartphones which stand out in the same category include Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S Prime and Motorola’s Moto E3 Power. The Redmi 3S Prime priced at Rs 8,999, features a 5-inch HD IPS display. Under the hood, it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB. For photography, the Redmi 3S Prime sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based MIUI 7.
The Motorola Moto E3 Power is priced at Rs 7,999 and features a 5-inch HD display. At the core of the smartphone, it runs a MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB. In the photography department, the Moto E3 Power sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 3,500mAh battery.
