Adding to its line of Zenfone Max series, Asus is set to launch the Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) on February 7. The smartphone is an incremental upgrade over the Zenfone 3 Max, and brings in subtle changes and better specs. Highlight of the Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) is the big battery capacity. While the Zenfone 3 Max was backed by a 4,100mAh battery, the Zenfone 3s Max is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery. Along with the massive battery, the smartphone is also among the first devices to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

The Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) features a metal unibody design. It comes with a 5.2-inch HD (720p) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, MediaTek 64-bit MT6750 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz comes paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. It further comes with microSD card for storage expansion up to 2TB.

In the photography department, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P Largan lens, PDAF, and dual-LED real-tone flash. The camera supports video recording up to 1080p (30fps). For selfies, it comes with an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85 degree wide angle lens.

With the 5,000mAh battery at its core, the smartphone is claimed to offer enough backup of over two days on single charge. It also supports reverse charging which allows one to use it as a powerbank to charge other smartphones.

Additional features include a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button in the front. With 360-degree recognition, it can store up to five fingerprints. Other than unlocking the device, the sensor can also be used to receive calls in lock mode. Connectivity options include dual SIM support (hybrid slot), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen UI on top.

Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) will be available in black and gold color variants. Asus will make the smartphone available via both online and offline channels. Although the company will be announcing the pricing and details on February 7, it is expected that the Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) will be priced under Rs 16,000. At that price point, it will compete with the likes of other battery focussed and budget smartphones including the Lenovo P2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

The Lenovo P2 is priced at Rs 16,999 and is also powered by a mammoth 5,000mAh battery. Other specifications include a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 pixel) Super AMOLED display, 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, dual-SIM, LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, and USB OTG.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 , on the other hand, is priced at Rs 12,999 and comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) IPS display with 2.5D Curved Glass protection, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 4,100mAh battery, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth.

Asus ZenFone 3S Max Launched in India at Rs. 14,999.

Asus has launched a new ZenFone 3 series smartphone in India on Tuesday - the ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL). The smartphone, named Asus Zenfone 3S Max (ZC521TL), has been priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available from via both offline and online retail channels starting Tuesday itself in Black and Sand Gold colour variants.

The highlights of the Asus ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) are its metal unibody design made of aluminium, a fingerprint scanner on the Home Button that's claimed to unlock the smartphone in under 0.5 seconds, apart from a 5000mAh battery that's rated to deliver up to 3 days of normal usage, and is coupled with a reverse charging feature that allows the handset to be used as a power bank. Asus says the ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) is a more powerful variant of the 5.2-inch Asus ZenFone 3 Max (ZC520TL).

Running ZenUI 3.0-based on Android 7.0 Nougat, the dual-SIM (Micro + Nano) Asus ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) brings features such as ZenMotion Touch Gesture, Bluelight filter, Audio Wizard, and GameGenie over and above the improvements that Android 7.0 Nougat brings.

The Asus ZenFone 3S Max sports a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and a brightness of 450-nits, and it's powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC that's coupled with 3GB of RAM and the Mali T860 GPU.
As for optics, the new ZenFone 3S Max smartphone bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 5P Largan lens, PDAF, and dual-LED real-tone flash. Rear camera of the new Asus smartphone features include super resolution mode, low-light mode, panoramic mode, backlight HDR mode, and beautification mode. On the front, it sports an 8-megapixel camera with an 85-degree wide-angle lens - features include HDR, low-light mode, and beautification mode.

The ZenFone 3S Max comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable storage via microSD card (up to 2TB) in a hybrid dual-SIM design. Connectivity options on board include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS. Asus is also touting a dual-microphone setup for noise cancellation, and an ICEpower-enhanced mono loudspeaker. It's 8.5mm thick and weighs in at 175 grams.
