Adding to its line of Zenfone Max series, Asus is set to launch the Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) on February 7. The smartphone is an incremental upgrade over the Zenfone 3 Max, and brings in subtle changes and better specs. Highlight of the Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) is the big battery capacity. While the Zenfone 3 Max was backed by a 4,100mAh battery, the Zenfone 3s Max is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery. Along with the massive battery, the smartphone is also among the first devices to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
Asus Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) specifications and features
The Zenfone 3s Max (ZC521TL) features a metal unibody design. It comes with a 5.2-inch HD (720p) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, MediaTek 64-bit MT6750 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz comes paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. It further comes with microSD card for storage expansion up to 2TB.
In the photography department, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P Largan lens, PDAF, and dual-LED real-tone flash. The camera supports video recording up to 1080p (30fps). For selfies, it comes with an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85 degree wide angle lens.
With the 5,000mAh battery at its core, the smartphone is claimed to offer enough backup of over two days on single charge. It also supports reverse charging which allows one to use it as a powerbank to charge other smartphones.
Additional features include a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button in the front. With 360-degree recognition, it can store up to five fingerprints. Other than unlocking the device, the sensor can also be used to receive calls in lock mode. Connectivity options include dual SIM support (hybrid slot), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen UI on top.
