Asus ZenFone 2 Laser Got System Update With January Android Security Update

Hi Friends,

My Asus ZenFone 2 Laser 3GB Ram variant got system update today morning.The update is around 230MB.

Some changes I have noticed.

*The main thing is in the update is android security patch level is updated to 1 January 2017.

*Support India SOS Call.

*Back ground apps display size increased and the movement style of background apps changed.

Emergency option add in power button.

*4G logo coming after the volte logo when mobile data is on.(Earlier it was only upload and download arrow after volte logo)

*Volte enable tag is renamed as Volte.(Earlier it was lte)

Any other changes noticed please share it here my dear friends.

Hi Brother,

It is sad to hear that no update on 2GB ram variant.It may be because of the processor difference.2GB ram variant use snapdragon 430 and 3GB ram variant use snapdragon 615.

In some articles I read that Android 7 Nougat update will be happened only selected ZenFone 2 Laser series apart from other ZenFone models.May be 3GB ram variant got Android 7 Nougat update because of the snapdragon 615.

But I hope that all ZenFone 2 Laser will get the Android 7 Nougat update because ZenFone 2 Laser series is one of the popular model of Asus smartphone series.

@TR Vishnu bro you might be right in saying that Zenfone 2 is a popular model but without regular latest updates it seems to be a wrong choice. How come they neglect one of their so called popular product. I had sent many mails to them in this regard to no effect. Myself disappointed with Asus as such.
