After Google launched its 16GB Nexus 7 tablet via its Google Play store in India, Asus has launched the 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet in India as well. The good news is that Asus is launching the 3G+Wi-Fi as well as the Wi-Fi only model in India.
The 3G version costs only Rs 21,999, whereas the Wi-Fi variant will be available in India for Rs 18,999. This is great pricing as the iPad mini with the Wi-Fi only version starts at Rs 21,900 for a 16 GB model. The 16GB Nexus tablet which was launched by Google, costs Rs 15,599 on the Google Play store.
The Nexus 7 32GB is thus double the space of the iPad mini and comes with 3G. The iPad mini with 3G starts at Rs 27,900.
The Nexus 7 was the first 7-incher to house a 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, which includes a 12-core GPU. It has a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels at 216 ppi.
The tablet also comes with the pure Google OS version of Android Jelly Bean 4.1 ( at the time of the release) and this was upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.2 in November when Google launched the Nexus 10.
The tablet has 1GB of RAM, a 1.2 megapixel front camera and a 4325 mAh battery. It also includes NFC functionality.
tech2.com reported that a representative for Asus had said that the Nexus 7 pieces will be hitting Asus retail outlets in around a week’s time. Retail outlets like Croma and Vijay Sales will be getting the devices soon as well.
