Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus , the company’s first large screen smartphone in October. We have already seen the unboxing , photo gallery , benchmarks , battery test and review of the iPhone 6 Plus. Now lets compare the iPhone 6 Plus with HTC One M8 that was launched in India back in April.
Apple iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5 inch Retina HD display screen (1920 x 1080 pixels) and is powered by a new Apple A8 processor.
On the other hand the HTC One M8 has a 5.0- inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning
Gorilla glass protection and is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-
core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.
The iPhone 6 Plus runs on iOS 8 while the HTC One M8 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The former has 1.2MP front facing FaceTime
camera with 720p HD video recording while the One M8 has
5MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 1080p Full HD video recording.
iPhone 6 Plus has the trademark physical home button along with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor while the HTC One M8 has dual front facing speaker and no physical buttons.
The iPhone 6 Plus has an aluminium unibody design and
have curved edges and the Apple logo is situated at the middle of the phone.
On the other hand the HTC One M8 has a unibody brushed metal finish and HTC logo at the center.
The iPhone 6 Plus has a 8MP rear iSight camera that can shoot Slo-Mo videos at 120 fps or 240fps and supports OIS while the HTC One M8 has a Duo camera setup with a
primary UltraPixel camera (1/3″ BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, pixel size of 2.0 microns) and a secondary rear camera to capture depth information. It has dual LED flash that automatically selects the right tone and intensity based
on the scene.
The battery on the iPhone 6 Plus has a 2,915mAh battery and the One M8 has a 2600mAh battery.
The power button and the SIM card slot are at the right side of the iPhone 6 Plus while the HTC One M8 has microSD card tray and volume rockers on the right side.
iPhone 6 Plus has a power button on the top while the iPhone 6 Plus has no buttons. The iPhone 6 Plus has volume rockers while the rotation lock switch are placed on the left side while the One M8 has
a nano SIM card slot.
The 3.5mm audio jack and the Apple’s proprietary lightning
connector along with the loudspeakers are situated at the
bottom of the iPhone 6 Plus. While the HTC One M8 has 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port.
The iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1mm thick while the One M8 measures 9.35 mm thick and weighs 160 grams.
The iPhone 6 Plus is available in Silver, Gold, Space Gray colors and in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants for Rs. 62,500 for the basic 16GB variant, INR 71,500 and INR
80,500 respectively.
On the other hand the HTC One M8
comes in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold colors and it was launched at Rs 49,990.
