Apple has rolled out the iOS 10 beta 5 for developers. The new OS from Apple brings in a lot of cosmetic changes to iOS 10 from iOS 9, like the notifications on the lock screen will now feature widget-like cards that Apple is calling ‘Rich notifications’. The final version of the OS is expected to launch in September after Apple unveils the next iPhone.

The new beta for the OS brings several improvements and tweaks to iOS beta 4, and will most probably be the last ‘beta’ to be released before the formal launch of iOS 10 along with the iPhone 7.

According to notes shared by Apple, the changes in the new OS include changes in the-

App Store: For developers, testing the ‘In-App Purchases’, the first authentication dialog won’t appear twice any more.

Accessories: Devices will no longer panic when using iPhone 6s smart battery case.

Third party apps will play music even if the Music app has been removed.

Fixes an issues in setting up the Apple TV via Tap to Setup on an iOS device.

Fixes audio dropouts, especially for customers who were using Bluetooth-based hearing aids with iPhone, which is also synced with an Apple Watch.

Photo thumbnails in Messages will no longer draw with incorrect zoom, which resulted in a gray padding surrounding images.

After enabling speaker during a call , subsequent calls will no longer use speaker by default, which was another issue in the developer build.

Some other known issues with the iOS beta that Apple shared are issues with CarPlay – where a user may experience disconnections, or Siri audio cutting out while reading out messages.

FaceTime calls between iOS 10 beta 5 and older iOS and macOS betas are not supported. Some phone developers can expect performance issues, such as frame drops, and the Notes app might quit unexpectedly.

Apple iOS 10 will revamp the OS in a big way and brings new features like an improved Photos App, Messaging app for users. Apple has a public and developer beta of the OS out.

In our review of iOS 10 public beta, we found that the messaging app has come a long way from its old basic self, and is performing better than other third-party apps. The contact list has an improved look and feel to it, and now lets a user make a call or text someone faster than before.
