Apple on Wednesday night sent out media
invites for its event on October 16. The
company is expected to unveil a new iPad Air,
possibly a new iPad Mini with the retina
display, new iMacs and the final version of OS
X Yosemite at the event.
There is also speculation that Apple may even
announce a couple of new MacBooks at the
iPad event although given the lack of the
latest and greatest processors from Intel, it
looks unlikely.
The iPad event comes a little over month after
the iPhone event. However, unlike the iPhone
event which was held at a much bigger venue
the iPad event will take place at Apple's Town
Hall Auditorium that is smaller.
The new iPad will most likely be powered by
Apple's A8 processor. It will be also be
interesting to see how Apple plans to position
the iPad Mini in its line-up now that the iPhone
6 Plus, which is a large-screen phablet, is also
selling in the market.
In the last two quarters, the iPad has seen its
sale numbers fall compared to the same
duration last year. On October 16, Apple may
reveal a significant overhaul of the iPad in
terms of its hardware and software to again
make it appealing to consumers
