Angelo Mathews named as Sri Lankan Cricketer of the year
Colombo: Angelo Mathews, who has been in outstanding form this year was declared as the Sri Lankan Cricketer of the year at the Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) awards. He also took home the Best ODI Batsman and ODI All-rounder awards. Kumar Sangakkara, shared the best Test Batsman award with Mathews, Niroshan d*ckwella was adjudged as the Emerging Player of the year.
Mathews amassed 1,292 runs at 92.28 in Test Cricket during the Voting period. Even in ODIs, he scored 965 runs at an average of 53.61.
Mathews, has played some career-defining knocks during the last 12 months. It was his hundred in the Test match played at Headingley that helped Sri Lanka to Script a famous win against England. with his ball in hand, mathews has provided crucial breakthroughs for Sri Lanka across all formats.
