Sony has announced Android Marshmallow update for its flagship smartphones -- Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and the older Z3 Plus, in India. The company through its official Twitter handle hinted that it will roll out the update over the weekend.

Both Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium were
launched here in October 2015 at a price of Rs 52,990 and 62,990 respectively.

The Xperia Z5 Premium is the first smartphone to come with a 4K resolution display. It sports a 5.5-inch 4K Triluminos display (3840 x 2160p) and upscales content to 4K, enhancing any native or third party videos or photos so users can view Netflix, YouTube or their own videos in 4K.

The Xperia Z5, on the other hand, comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) display. Both feature Sony's new 1/2.3 Exmor RS for mobile 23MP sensor and F2.0 G Lens with a 5MP front camera.

The phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB in-built storage expandable up to 200GB via microSD card. Both support Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 that enables users to get 5.5 hours usage with just 10 minutes of charging with a certified Quick Charge 2.0 charger.

Connectivity options are 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options. Xperia Z5 Premium is backed by a 3,430mAh battery while the Z5 comes with a 2,900mAh battery.

This is one reason why Sony,Samsung have flopped in Mid Range segment, they almost forget OS and Other updates for mid range devices and only provide upgrades to the High end models :huh
