Reliance Industries is beta testing its Android-based Jio TV OS for a Diwali launch. Competing with Samsung and LG, it will run 4K TVs under BPL and Reconnect, announced by Akash Ambani. Licensing deals and JioCinema integration drive revenue. Jio TV OS is open source. Bug fixes are ongoing amid market trends showing a decline in small-screen TV demand.

Reliance Digital already having homegrown brands seems we'll see more television like BPL, Onida, Akai, etc with JioTVOS.

Reliance Industries has announced in it's Annual AGM India’s first home-grown smart TV operating system, Jio TV OS. The Jio TV OS, built on Google’s Android platform, will compete with Samsung’s Tizen OS, LG’s webOS, Skyworth’s Coolita OS, and Hisense’s Vidaa OS.

Now the million dollar question is whether this STB will only be provided with Fiber/AirFiber connections like now or sold as individual products?
