After rolling out the Android 5.0 update for its Xperia Z-series, Sony is now getting ready to bring the Android 5.1 update to its smartphones.
The company on Thursday stated that it will release the Android 5.1 for the complete Xperia Z-series (Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact), Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 smartphones. It will also update the M2 and M2 Aqua smartphones directly to Android 5.1. These two phones haven’t received the Android 5.0 update.
According to Sony, the Android 5.1 update roll-out will start in July. Xperia Z-series will most likely get it first, followed by T2 Ultra, C3 and then Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua.
The company hasn’t shared a change-log of the upcoming update, but you can expect to better dual-SIM support, few UI tweaks and bug-fixes.
