Mishra, 33, took 15 wickets in the 5 match series against Kiwis. In doing so, he broke the record for taking most number of wickets in a bilateral ODI series against New Zealand. The previous record of 13 wickets was held by Shane Warne, Darren Gough and Sunil Narine.
With Tim Southee's wicket, the leg-spinner went past Warne, Gough and Naraine. Mishra won the Man of the Match award for his wonderful performance of 6-2-18-5 at Vizag where India defeated New Zealand by 190 runs.
At one stage series was beautifully poised at 2-2 with the decider to be played at Vishakhapatnam, which India dominated both with bat and ball.
