Breaking Amazon to launch Prime Video Channels in India

E-commerce giant Amazon is launching its Prime Video Channels service in the Indian market. The service offers paid monthly subscriptions to third-party premium networks and other streaming entertainment channels.

The company is also in the process of hiring an India head for the service. The position will be based out of the Mumbai office.

This will define a new era in streaming if popular Indian networks make use of this and provide their live channels on Amazon Prime.

In other countries Prime Video Channels include HBO, Showtime, Eurosport and Starz. I guess the same will be implemented in India also.

Native Indian players like Star, Zee,Colors etc wont support this as they have own ott platforms.

Users are required to pay separately for each of the channels over and above their Prime subscription fee of ₹999 a year charged in India
