Google and its manufacturing partners seem unable (or unwilling) to contain the stream of leaks preceding the launch of Nexus devices. The Nexus 5X is the latest example, and today, we have more details to add to an already good picture.
Amazon India published product pages for the LG-made Nexus 5X in three color variants: Charcoal Black, Quartz White, and Ice Blue (confirming our recent exclusive report and a leak out of South Korea showing the blue version).
The listings are still available through direct links at the time of this writing, though it’s likely they will be removed soon.
The listings confirm some specs that have been rumored before, including the storage options. It looks like the Nexus 5X will indeed only be available in 16GB and 32GB, a decision by Google that has already created a wave of negative commentary. Is 16GB still enough in 2015, on a device without expandable storage? Perhaps in California, where people have generous data allowances, but how about the rest of the world?
The Nexus 5X will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2700 mAh battery, a 12.3 MP main camera, and a 5 MP front camera. These are all specs listed in the three listings, and they seem very credible at this point. Assuming they are correct, the Nexus 5X will be a rather heavy 177 grams at dimensions of 15.4 x 1 x 7.6 cm.
No price is given in the listing and the launch date is listed as September 29, when Google is scheduled to hold an event.
While these listing look pretty credible, there’s a chance they are inaccurate. But they do mesh in with many other reports. Let us know your thoughts!
