One thing I hate about Jio is their ridiculous terms and conditions. We need to continue having an active plan or our hotstar's benefits forfeits.

Would IPL be available as part of Hotstar VIP? Wouldn't it require Hotstar Premium? May be VIP will air regional language IPL feed alone, and not English? Tricky!

Live sports including IPL is part of Hotstar VIP. All feeds will be available for VIP users.

Well they are selling me VIP subscription stating their is original, regional tv content, movies and live sports with ads on this subscription. Do remember that VIP pack was sports specific pack first. They repackaged their offering. I am 100% sure sports will be provided in all language feeds available.
