Yes. Now the website changes are rolled back. 1099 plan again showing 200 Mbps speed.

We don't know whether they accidentally revealed their upcoming plan and now reverted back till some official communication.

Airtel has reduced it's Rs. 999 (non-TV) / 1099 (with DTH/IPTV) internet speed from 200 Mbps to 100 Mbps. That's 50% speed slash.

Now the Rs. 799 (non-TV) / 899 (with DTH/IPTV) 100 Mbps and this plan has a mere difference of OTT apps while internet speed is equal in both.

Even if Airtel claims there's no price hike, it surely feels like a price hike because of the speed reduction by half (200 Mbps vs. 100 Mbps).

Plan details have been updated on both Airtel website & app.

this is really bad! and this is when I was planning to take this same plan! totally disappointed, the only difference remains in both plan is OTT platforms now. Such a drawback forced me to rethink my decision of going for Airtel (was only planning due to IPTV which is still not available in delhi yet)

(Pure Assumption) May be this is due to starlink effect. Jio and airtel will increase the fiber plan so that starlink can launch its service in india of 100mbps plan at a price of <1500/m.

I hope Jio don't reduce their plan speeds now. That would be really annoying.

BTW, there doesn't seem to be any changes for ₹1599 plan. I guess they might reduce speed to 200Mbps for it soon.

Here is my quick review of xtream fiber:

This plan change is such a bad move. I got xtreme fiber under black plan 699 in Feb 2025, used it for a month just to test it out before upgrading to 1099 plan. The internet is actually better than jiofiber, loaded latency is great, got bridge mode enabled as well. So, this sunday i raised a request to upgrade my plan to 1099 (200Mbps) and this is were things didn’t go as planned. My iptv plan got updated but my fiber was stuck with 40Mbps plan, the request as of today, i.e even after 3 days is still under process. Made calls daily to customer care and every time I was given a 24hrs time period to resolve. The overall black 1099 is active from sunday but fiber is on 40Mbps plan.

Coming back to this post, Yes, even my current so called plan is showing speed upto 100Mbps now instead of 200Mbps when activation request was made. And at this price 100Mbps plan is expensive.

The other thing I don’t like in airtel in comparison to jiofiber is that the OTT apps other than hostar, have to be viewed via xtream play app, making our current profiles in LIV and Zee5 unusable. Xtream play doesn’t have user profiles option so everyone has to see from 1 single profile only.
