Is it possible to watch tv channels in 2 tvs with airtel airfiber? Like jio provides Jio TV+ app. Is there anything for airtel?

Hi @anuraag488 bro,

You'll need to take two individual Airtel Xstream IPTV box with your AirFiber to watch on two TVs. Airtel allows up to 3 connections per Airtel Black bundle, so you can get two boxes combined with your single AirFiber connection.

Unlike JioTV+, Airtel doesn't provide an Android TV app with Live TV channels.

I guess Jio TV+ is also the app thru which Jio STB users can watch Live TV + App Content and even Hathway/ DEN Cable smart box users can download this app..... Basically Jio does not have any IPTV service and there r 2 ways to watch Live TV chs either use their cable tv service or via Jio TV+...... Airtel Provides DTH, IPTV service wherein one can watch Live TV+ App content if they opt for XStream Smart Android Box for DTH or IPTV Smart Box while Airtel XStream App can be downloaded by anyone to watch App Content (available on Android Google Play Store/ Apple Store/ Google TV Fire TV Stick/ LG Web OS, Samsung Tizen, VIDAA OS platform) and Airtel users can also watch Live TV chs part of their DTH or IPTV subscription on Airtel XStream Mobile App , this feature only available for its mobile app however there was news that Live TV features is under testing on its Android TV App and Airtel XStream App available for other TV OS platforms too

Better to offer live tv in xstream app with mix of digital feed for FTA channels and satellite feed for pay channels, then we can see better pq in SD channels of iptv.

IPTV is already have separate transmission from Airtel side, it is not the DTH feed.....both being run separately using different infrastructure..... Also picture quality issue dependent on internet speed as well as how bandwidth operetor as allocates to each channel for transmission over its fiber network

I think FUP data limit is only applicable for regular internet surfing, for IPTV viewing same is not applicable
Airtel IPTV does uses FUP data limit. You can read this post - https://onlytech.com/community/threads/airtel-iptv-uses-wifi-plan-bandwidth-fup-data-does-that-affect-our-overall-internet-experience.56241. Since tv stream is being delivered over regular internet they can also make it an app if they wish to similar to Jio TV. This is not "old IPTV" where there was a total different connection for TV. Old IPTV is similar to Airtel Landline (VoIP). So old IPTV would only work with Airtel connection.

The only technical reason Airtel can't make app is they might be using Private CDN's for content delivery which are only accessable on Airtel Networks. I am not sure if they are using Private CDN's or they are just blocking other ISP connection's btw. If they were using Public CDN then nothing is stoping them from making an app.

Even in case of Private CDN they could still make it app btw. Just that it would work with only Airtel connection and not with isp.

Airtel uses too much compression for SD (2 mbps) & HD (8 mbps) channels in iptv, where as we can view better pq in Youtube for same FTA channels.
